DMZ Bounties and Dynamic Ops

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's DMZ, killing a player puts a Bounty on you, and four kills across deployments make you Wanted; others claim it by extracting with your Dog Tag. Dynamic Ops are multi-step objectives made fresh each match that pay DMZ XP, DMZ Cash and a Supply Drop that improves with every Op in the same run.

In DMZ in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a Bounty is the price on a player who has killed other players: the first kill of a human Operator gives you a Bounty at once, four kills across deployments make you Wanted, and anyone who kills you and extracts with your Dog Tag collects it. Dynamic Operations (Dynamic Ops) are the mode's repeatable jobs: multi-step objectives generated for each match that pay DMZ XP, DMZ Cash and a Supply Drop. Both come from Activision's two DMZ deep dives, the Hajin guide (Oct 5, 2026) and the FOB guide (Oct 9, 2026). The rest of the mode is on DMZ. The clip is the official DMZ Bounty Systems trailer: a player kill flashes "Bounty Increased" and "Wanted", and it ends on the Bounty Hunters leaderboard.

How Bounties work

Killing a human Operator gives you a Bounty straight away, valued in DMZ Cash and shown on your Dog Tag. Several things raise its level, including who fired first and whether you were outnumbered, and the biggest Bounties are "Most Wanted", per the FOB deep dive. After four player kills across deployments you become Wanted: nearby Operators are warned when you approach, and the Tac-Map draws a shrinking circle around you. At the highest Wanted level, your general area is shown to everyone in Hajin.

A Bounty ends in three ways: you die and fail to exfil, another player extracts with your Dog Tag, or you pay it off with DMZ Cash at a Bounty Station in Hajin. Bounty Stations are rugged laptops marked on the Tac-Map, where you can also read the Bounties on other players (Oct 5 deep dive).

Hunting Bounties

To claim a Bounty, kill the target and extract with their Dog Tag. The payout grows with the target's Bounty level, with extra at the top Wanted level, and intel on a target costs more at a Bounty Station the more Wanted they are (Oct 9 deep dive). Your DMZ Level raises every payout: +10% at Level 30, +50% at Level 50 and +100% at Level 70. Killing players also gives more XP than killing AI.

Activision recommends Free Roam deployments, which have no mission, for hunting Wanted Operators. The Bounty Leaderboard at the FOB shows the top 50 Most Wanted and the top 50 Bounty Hunters, globally or among friends, and resets weekly. One known issue as of Oct 24, 2026: on PC, a network error can occur when extracting with a looted Dog Tag, per Infinity Ward's patch notes, which also fixed Bounty tracking on Oct 23.

Dog Tags and the Dog Tag Case

Every Operator wears a Dog Tag whose rarity follows their level: Steel, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Damascus or Onyx. The Dog Tag Case at the FOB, open from DMZ Level 20, keeps each tag you extract with its rarity, the victim's name, your name, and the time and date (Oct 9 deep dive). Lieutenants drop a separate Lieutenant Dog Tag Case: picking it up broadcasts your position, so exfil at once; extracting with it moves your Boss Board forward even if another player killed the Lieutenant. The Lieutenants are listed on Hajin. The clip is MrDalekJD at the FOB's Operator Dog Tags screen, two collected tags in the case.

How Dynamic Ops work

Dynamic Operations are multi-step objectives generated for each match, "from neutralizing weapons programs and securing assets to rescues and assaults", as Activision's June reveal (Jun 6, 2026) describes them. You can pick one at the Deploy station before infil, or start one in the field from a Dynamic Ops phone. Each completed Op pays DMZ XP and DMZ Cash plus a Supply Drop that gets better with each Op you finish in the same deployment: Common, then Uncommon, then Rare (Oct 5 deep dive). The clip is the official DMZ Dynamic Ops trailer, with squads crossing Hajin and a firefight in a depot full of tanks.

Ops named by Activision and Infinity Ward:

  • Hunt Operators sends you after a full squad of rival players.
  • Chemical Denial takes place at NuriGO Mall; a missing prompt on Nintendo Switch 2 was fixed on Oct 20.
  • Toxic Intercept has a Defend the Bomb objective; it could fail after that step until the Oct 21 fix.

Some Ops ask you to find keypad codes in safes, and at least one must be finished in under 8 minutes, per the patch notes. Ops that have you escort a hostage can give you an early private exfil on the hostage's helicopter, GameSpot (Oct 20, 2026) notes. Infinity Ward's Joe Cecot told Xbox Wire (Jun 7, 2026) that a "cash mule" Operator can fund a main character's rescues from vaults and Dynamic Ops.

Paying for your infil

Dynamic Operations and Free Roam let you buy a better way in, per the Oct 9 deep dive:

Infil Cost (DMZ Cash) What you get
Ground Free On foot at a random spot
Polaris Dagor A1 5,000 A lightly armored vehicle dropped to you
LTV 25,000 A heavily armored vehicle dropped to you
Helicopter 50,000 One squad member flies
Cargo Plane 100,000 The only option that lets you pick your exact drop point

Side Ops

Side Ops are smaller jobs scattered across Hajin: find lost Supply Drops, repair trucks, climb damaged radio towers to locate a Lieutenant, capture SAM Sites and activate UAV Towers (Oct 5 deep dive). A UAV Tower pays DMZ Cash and sends a pulse that reveals nearby players and enemies, and since the Oct 21 update you can take one back from enemy control. A captured SAM Site shoots down enemy aircraft, "particularly useful against Deathstalkers". The Overwatch Trait keeps your towers on for good, and Air Superiority makes towers and SAM Sites last longer (see DMZ Progression and Forward Operating Base).
