Kill Block is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's modular map: the Westbridge Training Facility, a battleground that rebuilds itself between rounds into more than 500 combinations, and at launch on Oct 23, 2026 it runs only 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight. Some of its sections are new and others draw on classic maps such as Crash, Highrise and Shoot House, so no two matches look quite alike. Infinity Ward promises 6v6 modes and new sections after launch. GameSpot's review called it "easily the star of Modern Warfare 4's multiplayer". The clip is Infinity Ward's designers on the idea: a map built from three slabs that changes every time you play it.

What Kill Block is

Kill Block is a training facility map assembled from three modular sections, two outer areas and one central combat space, each with several variants. Insider Gaming gives the pieces their names: two "End Slabs" and a "Central Slab", which together form a "Combo", on a footprint roughly the size of Modern Warfare (2019)'s Shoot House. Activision names the building the Westbridge Training Facility in its announcement; the Fanatics Fest recap calls it the West Bridge Advanced Military Training Facility. The clip shows the slabs in the editor while a designer says each is about the size of a 2v2 map and three together equal Shoot House.

Call of Duty's official 25-second video Welcome To Kill Block introduces the map, and the Kill Block Hype Cut followed on Jul 20, 2026. It flies over the facility and announces it as playable in 3v3 and 10v10.

How the map changes

In Gunfight on Kill Block the Slabs swap every two rounds, at the same moment the shared loadout changes, as PCGamesN describes it and Activision's beta weekend one intel confirms ("a new Combo of three Slabs"). Some sections are entirely new, while others draw on Crash, Highrise and Shoot House, placed at random each match (Call of Duty). Dexerto lists Slabs that reference Station, Shoot House, Killhouse, Ambush, Crash, Storage Town, Highrise and Blacksite, plus Woods, Snow Block, Cabin and ME-Town, and notes the four outer walls are marked A, B, C and D. The clip is GamingBolt's summary of the modular map and its more than 500 configurations.

Weather changes the fight too. Infinity Ward's Aug 21, 2026 blog says Kill Block's weather ranges from clear skies to rain and snow. Insider Gaming adds that rain and snow cut visibility and put water or ice on weapons, and that doors can be destroyed. Dexerto says Kill Block does not use the game's dynamic weather system.

Modes on Kill Block

At launch Kill Block supports 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight only. Rounds follow normal Gunfight rules: 50 seconds, first to 6 round wins, eliminate the other team or take the Overtime Flag, with one shared loadout for everyone that changes every two rounds. In 10v10 the loadouts are randomized and shared rather than custom classes (Insider Gaming), and since an Aug 28, 2026 beta change team chat in 10v10 does not fade with distance (beta patch notes). The clip is Kill Block gameplay from the official Hype Cut, with a 10 vs 8 count of players left on screen.

The launch patch notes promise 6v6 modes on Kill Block and new Slabs and configurations after launch. In August Infinity Ward said Search and Destroy and Domination were already in testing there (Call of Duty). No date for either had been given as of Oct 25, 2026. GameSpot counts Kill Block being limited to Gunfight among the game's weaknesses.

Reveal, Fanatics Fest and the beta

Activision revealed Kill Block on Jul 15, 2026. The public first played it at Fanatics Fest NYC that month, where four days of hands-on play were 10v10 Gunfight on Kill Block (Call of Duty); the official series From The Ward covered it in Episode 6, "Kill Block at Fanatics Fest", on Aug 10, 2026. The clip is from the official Hype Cut, cutting between people playing at a row of stations and Kill Block gameplay.

In the Open Beta Kill Block was there from Day One with 10v10 Gunfight. 3v3 Gunfight on Kill Block was added on Aug 23, 2026, and a 6v6 Gunfight playlist on Kill Block ran for the last days, Aug 30 to Sep 1 (beta patch notes).

Tips for Kill Block

Because the map changes every two rounds, the first seconds of each new layout matter most: read which End Slabs and Central Slab you have before pushing. Loadouts are shared, so neither team has a class advantage, and the weapon in your hands for those two rounds decides whether to hold long lanes or rush close. In rain and snow, expect shorter sight lines: Insider Gaming notes both reduce visibility. The weapons you may be handed are listed on Weapons.
