Activision calls it "the infamous small map": this version sits on a Russian harbor between the water and concrete panel buildings, keeping the classic layout with Modern Warfare 4's visual and gameplay improvements. Game Rant reports it supports all Core and Hardcore modes, and with it the game has 21 multiplayer maps. It is the only remake among the Core maps; the rest are on Multiplayer Maps.

When Shipment arrives

Activision's launch blog says Shipment arrives "shortly after launch" on Oct 27, 2026. Infinity Ward's launch roadmap, posted on X on Oct 14, 2026, puts it first in the pre-season: Shipment on Oct 27, the Halloween mode Possession on Oct 29, Infected on Oct 30, and Season 1 on Friday, Nov 6, 2026, as Game Rant reports it. Activision has not given an hour for the map's arrival as of Oct 25, 2026. The rest of the schedule is on Season 1 and Roadmap.

The map

Modern Warfare 4's version of Shipment is set on a Russian harbor, between the water and concrete panel buildings, with the classic layout and appearance enhanced by the new game's visual and gameplay improvements (Call of Duty). Game Rant describes the setting as a shipping yard near Chernobyl, Ukraine, which may refer to the 2007 original; this page follows Activision's description.

Dexerto spotted the map before it was announced, at the 37-second mark of the Sep 29, 2026 PC trailer, and Activision confirmed it in the Oct 21 launch blog.

Modes and playlists

Game Rant reports that Shipment supports all Core and Hardcore modes, including Team Deathmatch, as well as the new Collateral and Inflation. Modes and their rules are on Game Modes.

Activision has not announced a "Shipment 24/7" playlist (every match on Shipment) for Modern Warfare 4 as of Oct 25, 2026; the beta had a similar 24/7 playlist for another map, Transit 213 (beta patch notes).

History since 2007

Shipment debuted in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007, per Game Rant. Dexerto counts it in five mainline Call of Duty games, including every Modern Warfare since 2019, so Modern Warfare 4 continues a streak. It returns while Infinity Ward calls all 12 Core launch maps new (Insider Gaming), and while other classic maps live on only as sections of Kill Block.

Why players grind Shipment

Modern Warfare 4's camo grind is built on kill counts: the Gold camo, after all of a weapon's Military and Special camos, asks for 15 eliminations in a single Multiplayer match, and the Mastery camos ask for things like 10 kills in a match 250 times. Weapon levels unlock an attachment each, and weapon XP comes from using the weapon (Call of Duty). The challenges themselves are on Camos, and more ways to earn XP on How to Level Up Fast. The same chaos cuts the other way: you die as often as you kill, and challenges that ask for kills without dying are harder there. Killstreaks cost kills, and since the launch patch the UAV costs 5 kills (see Killstreaks).
