Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 starts on Friday, Nov 6, 2026, bringing the first Battle Pass and BlackCell and moving Warzone to Modern Warfare 4 with the Hajin and Zodiac maps. Before it, Shipment arrives on Oct 27 and the Halloween modes Possession and Infected follow that week.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 starts on Friday, Nov 6, 2026, on every platform, per the roadmap Infinity Ward posted on Oct 14, two weeks after the Oct 23 launch. It brings the first Battle Pass and BlackCell, and it is when Warzone becomes the Modern Warfare 4 chapter: Modern Warfare 4 weapons, level unlocks, camos and Daily Challenges come to Warzone, along with two new maps, Hajin for Battle Royale and Zodiac for Resurgence. Before Season 1, the pre-season roadmap adds Shipment on Oct 27 and the Halloween modes Possession and Infected. As of Oct 25, 2026, Season 1's new Multiplayer maps, weapons and Battle Pass contents had not been announced.

Shipment returns as a 13th Core 6v6 map, "the infamous small map" set on a Russian harbor between the water and concrete panel buildings, the official blog (Oct 21, 2026) says. Game Rant (Oct 22, 2026) reports it supports every Core and Hardcore mode and recalls that the map debuted in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007). More on Shipment.

Halloween: Possession and Infected

Two party modes arrive "just in time for Halloween" before Season 1, per the official maps and modes blog. Possession is new: when you eliminate an enemy you possess them, moving to where they stood and taking their loadout, and you always possess the enemy you eliminate. Infected returns: one random player starts Infected, and every Survivor they eliminate joins them, while the Survivors hold out as long as they can. Infinity Ward's launch notes say both drop "next week"; the exact days (Possession on Oct 29, Infected on Oct 30) come from Game Rant's reading of the roadmap image, not an official post. What Season 1 brings

The first Battle Pass goes live with Season 1. BlackCell, COD Points and Tier Skips, including the Vault Edition's one season of BlackCell, become usable at the same time. The C.O.D.E. Valor Pack, on sale since launch for Multiplayer and DMZ, reaches Warzone with Season 1, per the launch post.

4:42 In Multiplayer, Infinity Ward's launch notes promise 6v6 modes on Kill Block and new Slabs and configurations after launch, without a date; the reveal said Kill Block will grow during the live seasons (Kill Block). Some Apex Attachments from the beta were early seasonal Event items and "will return soon", the Oct 23 notes say. Which new 6v6 maps or weapons Season 1 adds had not been revealed as of Oct 25, 2026.

Ranked Play has no date. Dexerto (Oct 24, 2026) calls it "officially coming" and expects early 2027, possibly earlier; no Activision post had described it (Ranked Play).

Warzone in Season 1

0:00 Season 1 moves Warzone to Modern Warfare 4. From then Warzone XP counts toward the Level 1 to 55 Player Level, and Modern Warfare 4's Level Unlocks, Daily Challenges and three Warzone Mastery Camos (Parallax, Damascus Reforged and Empyros) come to Warzone. Two new maps arrive: Hajin, the region of the campaign and DMZ, as the Battle Royale map, and Zodiac, a Resurgence map by Beenox on a drone company's headquarters, which players tried in the open beta. Raven Software keeps balancing weapons every two weeks. The clip is Activision's Zodiac reveal: a drop over the town, then fights among its wind turbines and solar panels.

Carry Forward keeps Operators, skins and Blueprints from Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 usable in Warzone, with legacy weapons in a Legacy tab as fixed five-attachment builds; legacy weapon camos do not carry over. A new Operator Skin toggle, off by default, shows other players' older Operators as Modern Warfare 4 Operators on your screen. DMZ in Season 1

Game Rant's DMZ guide (Oct 18, 2026) lists a smaller "XO1" Exclusion Zone for Season 1 on Nov 6, beside Hajin, which holds 60 players in 20 squads. Vi.ki found no Activision post naming XO1 as of Oct 25, 2026, so treat it as Game Rant's report until Infinity Ward details the season. The current DMZ map is on Hajin and the mode on DMZ.
