1:53 Prestige in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 starts after Player Level 55, and for the first time in Call of Duty you choose between two paths every time you enter a new Prestige: Classic Prestige or Regular Prestige. Classic resets your level unlocks and Create-a-Class in exchange for a 20% XP boost, one Permanent Unlock Token and bonus cosmetics; Regular restarts you at Level 1 but keeps every unlock. There are 10 Prestige levels, each themed on an Infinity Ward game, then Prestige Master from Level 56 to Level 1,000 (Prestige Legend). Weapons have a separate Weapon Prestige with its own camos. 3:49 A Permanent Unlock Token keeps one Level Unlock item of your choice for good, even through later Classic Prestiges. The blog suggests spending tokens on perks, Field Upgrades, killstreaks and equipment rather than weapons. A weapon Blueprint you own also keeps its base weapon available through your leveling, so a Blueprint from the Store or a Battle Pass does part of a token's job for that gun.

4:56 Regular Prestige is the choice if you want the icon and the rewards without rebuilding your classes. Classic Prestige suits players who enjoy the climb itself and want the faster XP and the Prime cosmetics. Because you choose again at each Prestige, you can mix them: Classic early, for example, then Regular once your tokens cover the perks you care about.

Prestige rewards

4:16 Each Prestige gives a reward instantly and then one every ten levels (Level 10 loading screen, 20 emblem, 30 charm, 40 large decal, 50 the main reward). The Level 50 reward has one version for Regular and another for Classic.

Prestige 1 is spelled out in full: the "Sandstorm" Operator Skin for Army SF Airborne on entering it, a loading screen at Level 10, an emblem at 20, the "Engage!" charm at 30, the "Men of Service" large decal at 40 and the Mosin-Nagant Blueprint at 50. All 10 Prestige icons honor Infinity Ward's history, as the launch patch notes (Oct 21, 2026) put it.

Prestige Master

5:21 After Prestige 10 you enter Prestige Master at Level 56, and the count runs to Level 1,000, Prestige Legend. Rewards come every five to ten levels up to 99 and every 25 levels after that. Entering it gives the "Paragon" Operator Skin for Park and the Orange Level Color at once.

Weapon Prestige

15:04 Weapons level separately from you. Using a weapon earns Weapon XP, each weapon level unlocks an attachment, and at max level the weapon's Apex Attachment unlocks and Weapon Prestige opens. Entering Weapon Prestige 1 resets the weapon to Level 1 and relocks its attachments, except Apex and Blueprint attachments; Blueprints, camos, reticles and cosmetics stay. Shared attachments stay unlocked on your other weapons, and the launch patch notes add that a Prestiged weapon moves to a classic level-unlock path for its own attachments. Reaching max level again moves the weapon into Weapon Prestige Master, which keeps leveling without another reset and adds a Prestige icon shown in Gunsmith and the Killcam.

Two launch bugs touched Weapon Prestige: Military Camos and Apex Attachments could show as locked again after Prestiging a weapon, and a weapon's attachments did not reset automatically. The Oct 23 and Oct 24 updates fixed both. The rest of the camo grind is on Camos.
