Mission 6: Traffic
Traffic is the sixth mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a car chase in Paris with Valeria's cartel in which you protect a cargo van, follow Valeria on foot and escape the pursuit, without hitting civilians; it unlocks the "Luca" Base Operator.
Traffic is the sixth mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and its big car chase: Price works with Valeria Garza and her cartel in Paris, where the cartel does not mind "blasting through civilians" and Price tries to keep the damage down (GameSpot, Oct 16, 2026). Activision bills Paris as the campaign's "high-octane chases" (Call of Duty, read Oct 25, 2026). Its objectives are "Protect the Cargo Van," "Follow Valeria" and "Escape the Pursuit," and TheGamer's tip for the driving is to brake before a corner rather than halfway through it (TheGamer, Oct 25, 2026). Finishing it unlocks the "Luca" Base Operator (Call of Duty, Oct 16, 2026). The clip is Activision's first look at the chase, with Valeria and Price in it.

Spoilers for Mission 6 follow.
Protect the cargo van
The mission starts mid-chase: lean out of your car and shoot the pursuers behind the yellow cargo van ahead (Critical Hits, Oct 20, 2026). GamesRadar+ describes firing an assault rifle from the passenger seat of a speeding car, where hitting a civilian fails the mission (GamesRadar+, Oct 16, 2026), so aim high and take your time. Your car crashes in a tunnel and the fight goes on foot until the van is safe. Luca and Eduardo take the van; wait for an armored police car to arrive, clear its crew and take the wheel yourself, then drive it through traffic behind the van while Valeria fires her grenade launcher at the chasers (Critical Hits).
The driving is the mission's weak spot for some reviewers: Insider Gaming found that the throttle does not raise your speed and that there is heavy rubber-banding (Insider Gaming, Oct 18, 2026). Follow the van's line, brake early, and do not try to race it.
Follow Valeria
A crash disables the armored car. Use the wreck as cover and clear the enemies behind you, then follow Valeria through the streets (Critical Hits). Critical Hits' tips for this stretch:
- Riot shields: shoot their legs, or throw a flash grenade to stun them and open them up.
- The blue vans: enemies pile out of two of them; after the fight, the vans restock your ammo and armor, and one holds a light machine gun.
- The two armored cars: on the street where they attack, keep your distance and stay in cover until the cargo van arrives to pick you up.
Valeria keeps up the banter throughout; she calls Price "Papi" and "old man" (GameSpot).
Escape the pursuit
The last stretch is a chase in reverse: the French Mafia comes after you in police cars and blue vans, and you help Valeria drive them off. Critical Hits warns not to use C4 near unarmored vehicles, because the blast can catch civilian cars and fail the mission. In the final phase armored cars give chase; throw C4 onto them and detonate it. Destroying the last one plays the closing cutscene (Critical Hits).
Trophies and collectibles
Traffic has no trophy of its own and no collectibles (PowerPyx, Oct 18, 2026; PowerPyx collectibles, Oct 21, 2026). Every trophy is on Trophies and Achievements.
Reward and what comes next
Traffic unlocks the "Luca" Base Operator on any difficulty (Call of Duty); see Operators. Next is Mission 7: Gone Dark, where Task Force 141 catches up with Price. All missions are on Campaign Walkthrough.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I keep failing Traffic in MW4? Hitting civilians fails Modern Warfare 4's Traffic, including from the speeding car, and C4 set off near unarmored cars can catch civilian traffic. Aim carefully and keep C4 for the armored cars.
How do you beat the armored cars in MW4 Traffic? In the final phase of Modern Warfare 4's Traffic, throw C4 onto each armored car and detonate it; earlier, against the two armored cars on foot, stay in cover until the cargo van picks you up.
Where is the Traffic mission set? Modern Warfare 4's Traffic is a chase through Paris with Valeria's cartel, the city Activision gives for the campaign's "high-octane chases."
What is the reward for Traffic in Modern Warfare 4? Finishing Traffic unlocks the "Luca" Base Operator for MW4's Multiplayer and DMZ.
Is there a trophy in MW4's Traffic mission? No. Modern Warfare 4's Traffic has no trophy or collectible of its own.
