Spoilers for Mission 9 follow.

Setting
Survivors moves the campaign back to Park's squad, Sierra-1 (Windows Central, Oct 17, 2026), and puts them inside North Korea. KeenGamer's walkthrough describes the plan as a HALO drop into North Korea that goes wrong when anti-aircraft fire tears through the transport, Eagle-3, and names the squad's leader as Captain Kwon Hae-soo, callsign "Kal." PC Gamer sums up where the next mission starts: with the squad "crash landing behind enemy lines." The clip shows the squad aboard the transport as it enters North Korean airspace, until it is hit and goes down in flames.
The mission is the quiet before Stranded. There is no base to build and no big battle: you move in the dark and cold with a wounded squad, and the enemy is hunting for you.
Objectives in order
TheGamer's objectives list gives the mission in six steps:
- Follow Your Team
- Hide From Soldiers
- Hide From the Spotlight
- Pick Up Cho
- Continue Onwards
- Go Into the House
Walkthrough
Follow your team. The mission opens after the crash. Stay with the squad and let them set the pace; running ahead is the quickest way to be seen. KeenGamer's walkthrough describes the route as a freezing river and the snowy bank above it.
Hide from soldiers. North Korean trucks search the area. KeenGamer advises going prone in the snow when the trucks' searchlights sweep the bank, and TheGamer gives the same rule for the whole mission: stay low when patrols appear. Wait for the light to pass before you move again.
Hide from the spotlight. A search helicopter's spotlight follows next, per KeenGamer. Keep to cover, stay down while the beam is near you, and move only when it has turned away.
Pick up Cho. Cho, one of Park's squadmates, is wounded, and the objective has you carry him. KeenGamer notes that the dialogue prompts while you carry him do not change the outcome, so pick whichever you like. Carrying him slows you down, so choose cover before you set off across open ground. The clip opens on the dialogue prompts while Park carries Cho.
Continue onwards and go into the house. Push on with the squad to the shelter, a house where the group can hide. Going inside ends the mission, which leads directly into Stranded.
Story
KeenGamer says that during the mission Ko Jin-Hyuk, the North Korean lieutenant from Mission 8: Assassins, offers to defect and marks three sabotage targets on a map, and that Kal lets him go. Those three targets are the main objectives of Stranded: the Jamming Station, the SAM Site and the bunker (TheGamer). Insider Gaming's plot walkthrough sums up Ko's turn as defecting to help South Korea. For the whole plot, see Story. In the clip Ko gives his name, marks the explosives bunker and the jamming station on a map, and asks to be let go.
Choices, collectibles and trophies
Survivors has no choice that changes the story: KeenGamer says the dialogue options with Cho do not change the outcome. It has no collectibles, since PowerPyx's collectibles guide puts all of them in Missions 3, 10 and 13, and none of the 18 trophies in PowerPyx's trophy guide is tied to it. It still counts toward Hold the Line (finish the campaign on any difficulty) and Was it Worth It? (finish it on Realism), as Insider Gaming's trophy list describes them. See Trophies and Achievements.
Reward
Finishing Survivors gives a Double XP Token, the second of the three Double XP Tokens in Activision's reward list (after Mission 3 and before Mission 15). Campaign rewards became usable in Multiplayer and DMZ at full launch on Oct 23, and they are the same on any difficulty (Game Rant, Oct 19, 2026). For when to spend the token, see How to Level Up Fast and Campaign Rewards and Difficulty.
